An integrated label consists of a base document (carrier) and a backing
sheet. The
document is produced by die-cutting the integrated label shape through the
face carrier
but not through the backing sheet. The integrated patch label can then
be peeled from
the face carrier as it is held in place by the backing sheet whilst being
printed.
Integrated patch labels reduce labour costs and errors by incorporating an
integrated label
into the sheet, the costs of additional data-entry and the possibility of
additional hand
written entry errors are therefore eliminated. Because integrated labels
are not fixed on
top of a face carrier, they are typically thinner and also do not have a
raised edge which
might hinder the printing process, with the thinner material also stacking
better post printing.
Integrated panel labels have a generally higher degree of laser compatibility
and are an
excellent choice for almost any printer.
An exact colour match from integrated label to face carrier material is
acheived, as both are
manufactured from the same material stock. Furthermore, as the
integrated panel label is
part of the face carrier and therefore printed at the same time, an exact
colour match
between the integrated patch label and face carrier printing can be assured.
Integrated labels typically require less handling than normal label
types. Integrated labels
can be easily combined on the same document with other applications, for
streamlined
processing and greater handling efficiencies. For example a picking or
shipping list can be
combined with a shipping label which is printed concurrently. Invoice
forms can be produced
with an integrated label containing shipping details for mail order
processes. Marketing and
direct mail applications can utilise integrated labels for example for postal
address labelling.
Finally for health care applications, integrated label sheets can provide an
ideal solution to
idetifying or labelling numerous 'patient' records from one sheet whilst
details are retained on
the face carrier document. These applications can all be further
enhanced through the use
of multiple integrated patch labels per sheet.
content.
A further development of the integrated patch label, is to utilise dry peel
adhesive, such that
the patch or panel, when removed, is dry or non self adhesive. An
example application of this
type of product would be to produce personalised business cards, identity
badges or all manner
of tickets or cards. The face carrier we use for dry peel integrated
cards is 180gsm, bright
white, matt coated card with a smooth finish. This produces an end
product with excellent
quality print results, using either inkjet or laser printers. Dry peel
integrated card products are
manufactured on material designed for use on most laser printers and copiers,
(especially
desk-top machines), and all inkjet printers currently available.
