How to Make Transparent Window Stickers

Posted by : Mercury Labels Ltd on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Printed Labels.

Turn your windows in adverts! Mercury Label’s cost-effective transparent labels, available in various sizes and shapes, are the perfect solution for designing and printing window stickers. Whether you are trying to promote your products, your business or yourself, window labels are a great way of getting your branding out there!

But what is the actual process of creating eye catching window stickers?

There are different types of clear labels that need to be considered when you are ready to get started. Your choice will be determined by the level of permanency, finish and type of adhesive you require.

Laser vs Inkjet on Transparent Labels

Your initial decision will be based on the type of printer you have available to you. Some labels are manufactured for laser printers whilst others will be specifically compatible with inkjet printers.

Removable vs Permanent Transparent Labels

Your next decision is to determine whether you would like the window labels to be permanent or to ensure they can easily and safely be removed without causing any damage. You must select the level of adhesion you require at this stage.

Gloss vs Matt Transparent Labels

Finally, you will need to decide whether you prefer a matt or a gloss finish. This will primarily depend on where the stickers are intended to be placed. Matt is probably better for areas where glare may be a problem, making it somewhat difficult to read the text, whereas gloss is better for areas of low light reflection.

Standard printing templates can be used for printing on transparent window labels, however if you intend to stick the labels to the inside of the window you may opt to have bespoke labels made for you where the print will be added to the underside of the clear label so that it can be read correctly from the outside of the window. Alternatively, you could reverse your design so that when it is printed it reads properly, when viewed from the opposite side.

If you don’t feel confident printing your own labels then it is wise to pass the project on to the professionals who will be able to design and create the perfect window sticker for you.

Here at Mercury Labels, we offer a totally bespoke service to our clients where we will consult from beginning to end to achieve the perfect window label.
